Programme
Marxist Action Group stands for:
- A properly funded public health system, free at the point of use.
- A properly funded, democratically controlled, comprehensive public education system. Closure of all privately funded and faith schools. Free access for all to further and higher education.
- Properly funded, democratically controlled public services.
- Nationalisation of private industry under workers’ management and control to meet the current and future needs of all, not just a wealthy few.
- Full employment for all, with the minimum wage and pensions indexed to the average wage. The right to strike, the right to union representation and collective bargaining. Reclaiming the unions from the bureaucrats. Workers’ delegates to be paid no more than a skilled worker’s wage.
- Decent, safe and secure public housing for all who want or need it.
- Outlawing all forms of discrimination on the basis of ethnicity, nationality, sexuality, gender, age, disabilities or health.
- Open borders. Abolition of all racist immigration laws.
- Opposition to all bureaucratic forms of organisation.
- Abolition of the monarchy and the House of Lords. Government by a workers’ commonwealth. Workers’ MPs to be paid no more than a skilled worker’s wage.
- Socialist internationalism. For a federated socialist commonwealth of Europe, as part of a world socialist federation.
