European Border Agency Collaborates With Vietnamese State Repression

Posted on June 4, 2009

Action2-l reports that Frontex (Frontières Extérieures), the European border agency is co-operating with the Vietnamese secret police, rounding up Vietnamese people in Poland and Germany for deportation. In Warsaw, a 27-year old man died after jumping out a window after border guards arrived at his apartment.

A18 showed up again in Poland. It is the Vietnamese secret police which is involved in deporting people from Poland. But this time Frontex is coordinating the logistics and the EU is paying for the detention and deportations. Two people from Frontex went to these interrogations. At least 30 people have been already interrogated. People are being held now in Szczecin until the middle of June when they are to be transported to Berlin for joint deportation. Right now, a similar process is going on in Germany, with interrogations of Vietnamese who will be deported.”

There’s an article about the deportations in Berlin at Indymedia (in German).
