Running For Open Borders

The more the merrier

Carrying the message, unfettered freedom of movement for all and open borders, a team of passionate women are running on behalf of the feisty charity WORLDwrite on the Adidas Women’s 5K challenge in Hyde Park on 7th September and are sure to stand out from the crowd. Too many people? Too many immigrants? A strain on our national resources? With The More the Merrier — Open the borders as the slogan on their t-shirts, these women think not.

As runner Saleha Ali, said today: “Attitudes to immigration may have been “de-racialised” and we don’t get called rude names to the same extent, yet there is now more closure than ever before and it is commonplace to talk about immigrants as “illegals” and to be told to “go back home”. More people and especially new arrivals are viewed as a threat to the planet and a strain on our resources; this is nonsense and has to be challenged.”
