Release Matombo and Chibebe

The trial of Lovemore Matombo and Wellington Chibebe, respectively President and General Secretary of the Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions, has been postponed until 27 August 2008. They are accused of ‘spreading falsehoods prejudicial to the State’, for speaking out against the Mugabe régime’s campaign of violence and intimidation in the lead up to the recent sham election.
