Nationalise Utilities Now

Yesterday British Gas announced it was raising prices by 35%, raising what the press refer to as ‘fears of fuel poverty’. The reality of fuel poverty in the colder parts of Britain, particularly the North and Scotland, is the prospect of elderly people and low income earners freezing to death in their homes this coming winter.
Increased fuel prices will have an inflationary effect on food and other essentials.
Today Centrica, the parent of British Gas announced that it had made profits of nearly £1 billion in the past six months. Centrica shareholders — how many dead grannies will go into your dividend payments?
Nationalise utilities and run them for the benefit people not to fill the pockets of the bosses.
